Meet Dr. John M. Waite
A skilled PA with a doctorate in healthcare leadership, passionate about teaching health.
Dr. John M. Waite, DMSc, MPAP, PA-C, is a licensed and certified physician assistant (PA) with over 10 years of experience that includes emergency medicine, ears, nose, throat, and facial plastic surgery, as well as urgent care. Prior to his work as a PA, Dr. Waite worked in both in-patient and retail pharmacy for over a decade, giving him over 20 years of experience in healthcare.
Dr. Waite (or just John, as he prefers to be called) earned a doctorate of medical science in healthcare leadership from Northeastern University in with a focus in both public health and business management. He received his master’s of physician assistant practice from the Keck School of Medicine of USC, and a Bachelor of Arts in theatre arts with a minor in humanities. This unique mix of education helps him see health from many different angles.
John believes that everyone deserves good healthcare, and more importantly, that everyone should understand their own health. That is why he loves making health information easy to understand. Healthcare can be confusing with all its big words and complex ideas, so he works hard to explain things clearly to his patients.
John sees each person as a whole – not just a set of symptoms. A patient’s physical, mental wellbeing, life goals, and personal circumstances all matter. When patients are under his care, he teaches them how to care for themselves, and to speak up for their health needs, not merely treating what is wrong today.
Whether he is helping patients, teaching them about health, or giving advice about healthcare, John has one main goal: to help people live their best lives while staying healthy. He believes that when patients feel healthy and understand their health, they have the energy and confidence to follow their dreams and reach their goals.
